Our client is looking for an IT Manager to manage the local office IT function of a large multinational commercial firm, ensuring that a comprehensive IT support service is provided to Partners and Business Services staff. This position is also responsible for working closely with users to educate them on the technologies deployed within the office and on the desktop, with the aim of improving efficiencies and productivities. Key responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to local, regional and global guidelines
- Develop initiatives to upskill the business on using the technology tools available and to create a self-service mentality
- Consult with the Australian leadership team in relation to local IT requirements
- Contribute to continuous process improvements
- Alongside the Technology Services management team, ensure local IT budgets are controlled and inconsistencies are flagged
- Review and improve the effectiveness and overall performance of the 2nd line support function
- Develop relationships with regional and global support groups to aid the speedy resolution of incidents
- Manage the successful delivery of projects within Australia and contribute to new service testing and evaluation
- Manage procurement activities
- Ensure global policies and procedures are adopted and applied by the Australia team
- Act as the service escalation point for major incidents for the Australia Offices that cannot be fixed in the normal process
- Help find solutions to complex problems and process inefficiencies
- Manage a highly visible support team across the business floors that proactively engages with end users to add value through Tech Bars and floor walking etc.
- Understand business requirements for Australia and communicate them across IT Operations, including:
- provision of Desktop Hardware and Software support including Remote services;
- making IT Operations support organisation “transparent” to users via “seamless” interface;
- managing V.I.P. (Partners and Senior Management) support; and
- reviewing business requirements by attending and/or facilitating meetings as directed.
The location of the role is in Sydney.
