Our client is looking for a Data Engineer. As a Data Engineer you will serve as a technical expert responsible for the design, build and implementation of data solutions to underpin high-value, timely analytics and data solutions for the organisation. You will be responsible for data acquisition and ingestion, transformations and data quality of all transforms in a hybrid data environment based on the latest technology. About you:
- A creative and lateral thinker with a demonstrated ability to design solutions to complex problems
- Experience / qualifications appropriate for the nature of the role
- Experience working with both structures and unstructured data in different environments (on premise and cloud)
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the data life cycle within a data warehouse or analytical environment
- Demonstrated ability to understand, analyse and communicate complex business and data issues and solutions to a variety of audiences
- Demonstrate a mindset of agility and a flexible and adaptive working approach
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of data design and modelling techniques required to support data analytics and insights
- Demonstrate an understanding of Business Objects and Power BI reporting capabilities
- Experience in EDW data migration projects as well as experience in Data Governance and Power BI is highly desirable.
Essential skills:
- Experience working as a developer in a DW/Data Lake environment.
- A minimum of four years’ experience for candidates applying as a senior Data Engineer.
- Highly skilled in SQL
- Experience in SAP Data services
- SQL/NoSQL database experience
- AI/ML Exposure and/or Interest.
The location of the role is in Auckland.
